Simba SC has officially confirmed the departure of seven players as the club continues to reshape its squad ahead of the 2026/27 season. The decision reflects the club's determination to build a stronger team capable of challenging for the Tanzania Premier League title and making a bigger impact in CAF interclub competitions.
The players released are Chamou Karaboue, Naby Camara, Edwin Balua, Joshua Mutale, Awesu Awesu, Omari Omari, and Moussa Camara. Their departures mark the end of their time at the club as Simba begins another rebuilding process ahead of the new season.
Behind the decision is that the players were unable to consistently reach the performance levels required to secure regular places in the squad. While some struggled to maintain the standards expected at the club, others saw their progress disrupted by recurring injury problems, making it difficult for them to establish themselves over the course of the season.
With competition for places becoming increasingly intense, Simba is focused on assembling a squad capable of maintaining high standards throughout a demanding campaign. The club is targeting players who can perform consistently and compete at the highest level in both competitions.
Simba has continued to win other trophies in recent years, the club has now gone five consecutive seasons without lifting the Tanzania Premier League title. That has increased the pressure to strengthen the squad with players capable of helping the team reclaim the league crown.
Attention now turns to the transfer window, where supporters will be eager to see the club's next moves. The expectation is that the new signings will bring the quality, consistency, and depth needed to help Simba regain the league title while also becoming a stronger force in continental football.
